The stunning view to the north of Lovango Resort and Beach Club served as the main inspiration for the treehouse accommodations. Like every other public-facing space on the island, the natural world was our partner in each step of design. From this creative inspiration, a spectrum of creams, neutral brown woods, warm terracotta tones, and the blues and greens of sky, leaf, and ocean came together to make up the palette for the treehouse.
A welcoming seating area lays across from the bed. A space for a family or honey-moon-ing couple to connect over a board game, read a book in the built-in daybed, or stare out across the waters towards the wild, preserved island of Congo, a bird sanctuary. All of our design choices are meant to complement the carpentry of the treehouse and the surrounding environment — decor and furniture is clean, simple, and restrained to highlight the natural beauty.
Custom-built louver doors expose stunning views and an outdoor space designed to welcome guests into an inviting sunken conversation pit or a place to enjoy coffee in the morning breeze. The wrought iron canopy bed provides a romantic cocoon of netting for our guests to awake in a haze of sun and softness.
One of the perks of living in the tropics is showering outdoors, connecting with the natural world in your most natural state. We designed the outdoor shower and bathroom to envelop you in light yet protect from prying eyes via a canopy of wooden dowels hewn from the local environment. Stone, plaster, concrete, and woven raffia make up the basis of our materials.
